We are well into the month of October now, actually it is nearly at an end. Fall has certainly hit our area, it has gotten quite chilly. Some mornings the ground has been frost covered. The leaves are changing (in fact peak leaf season here has already come and gone), other than our large Maple in our front yard that always seems to change and fall practically the same day, usually around first snowfall; right now she is still green, full and brilliant looking. As for our neighbors trees, they are mostly bare, and the ground is saturated with dry brown, golden, and red leaves…perfect for playing in!
Yesterday afternoon, Ryan took Novella outside to tend to the hens and burn off some energy on the crisp lovely day. After awhile, I heard them across the street playing with the neighbors, I made my way over for a short visit. Which in turn became a game of tag between 3 children, 4 adults and 2 dogs. I honestly cannot recall the last time I played tag, but boy did we have a lot of laughter and fun. Before long Greg (the dad) had gotten out his rake and was making a pile for the boys (Brent and Logan) and Novella to play in. Mind you, this was a first time experience for Novella, and it couldn’t have been any more fun! Before long everyone was wrestling around, still playing tag, throwing leaves, jumping in piles… and when I say everyone… yes, even the adults (mostly Danielle and myself!)
