Ryans Birthday Extravaganza

Ryan and I have known one another for a little over six years now. In those six years I can count the times he has actually been home and off duty for his birthday on one finger. haha

So let’s just say that this year, October 29th was a pretty special day. Not only was Ryan off work and home, but it was also his golden birthday, he turned 29 on the 29th. We actually did most of the birthday celebration the night before because we had a VERY FULL day planned with the girls on the actual day this year.

Ryan got his very own Reeses Ice Cream Cookie Pie from Dairy Queen, he got it all to himself over a couple of days, and didn’t have to share with anyone. It’s his birthday, and he can be selfish if he wants too! 😉 haha but seriously, usually Novella is all about sharing those sweets, so it was special that he got his own sweet treat all to himself. We opened presents the day before. Novella and Aveline gave him some play guns and badges so they could play cops and robbers… except Ryan had so much fun, he broke one within two minutes of opening it…. ooops! lol O’well., he also got some bluetooth headphones and a new shirt. If you know Ryan, he has a collection of quirky tshirts (usually found by me). This one says “Reading Rambo”, and has the Reading Rainbow look to it, only it is Levar Burton dressed as his character Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge from Star Trek: The Next Generation, holding an awesome gun, from what I can gather it is likely an M60 machine gun like the one Rambo used. haha it is pretty epic! Needless to say he was stoked when he opened it!

The following day was his actual birthday, we dressed the girls up in their Halloween costumes and headed downtown right away. There we went to the farmers market, visited some friends at the local shops, painted a pumpkin with Novella, and made slime at the library. Our town does Thrills on Third every year where they come together and offer fun activities for the kiddos on the main strip, and then in the afternoon have a costume parade and trick or treating at the local shops. In the morning Novella went as a Lion (her costume from last year), in the afternoon a Panda bear. Aveline was cookie Monster, and I wore a sign that said, “Hello my name is Milk Maid, property of Cookies n’ Cream LLC” (you know since I’m the milk for my little cookie monster. 😉 guess we could call that nursing momma humor. lol). After we ate some pizza for lunch we loaded back up and went and did trick or treating down third avenue. Brought he dog home, and headed over to our friends house for light appetizers and soup. All the kiddos had a blast, Novella did not get a nap that day, but was very well behaved. By the time we got home that evening we were ALL BEAT! Everyone slept hard that night too! All in all it was a fun and full day, but we had a blast as a family over the course of the weekend celebrating Ryan and his 29 years earthside! 🙂
