For Christmas this year we are planning to go to NC to see Ryan’s family. Mom mom, Pop Pop, Uncle Jonathan, Aunt Tina, Aunt Mimi, Uncle Chris, the girls 3 cousins, Alex, Aiden and Dominic…oh and you can’t forget Aila’s 5 dog cousins that she will get to play with! It will certainly be a full house! This will be the first time that some of them have met Novella, and the first time for all of them to meet Aveline. Needless to say, we are SUPER DUPER excited for this trip!

Novella has started having an understanding about Christmas, she sees the decorations in shops and says, “They decorated for Chris Chris Time!”. We have explained to her that for Christmas we will be going to Mom Mom and Pop Pops house. Ever since, she hasn’t stopped asking. Seriously, EVERY TIME we get into the car she asks if we are going to Christmas time at Mom Mom and Pop Pops. As sweet as it is, the constant fixation of leaving has gotten a tad bit annoying some days, as I am sure you can imagine. So I came up with an idea to help her understand and count down the days to make it more fun, and she hasn’t been asking as obsessively about it since.

We decided to do a little craft and make a paper chain out of red and green construction paper. I cut them into strips, put the dates on them, and Novella got to help me color and decorate them. After we had them all finished she got to use the glue stick and glue them together to make the chain. Every morning she gets to use the children’s scissors to cut off the day before. Different rings have special activities that we will be doing on specific days to look forward to as we ideally look forward to the end ring which is our arrival at MOM MOM and POP POP’s house.
