OKLAHOMA!!

After some awesome Birthday Fun, in May the girls, dog, my parents and I all loaded up and made our way to Oklahoma! It took us two LONG days, but we made the best of it and had all the fun we could on the way. When we arrived it was late, but the girls were wired getting to see Great Grandmother again and being out of the car! Eventually I got them down for bed, and so began our almost two week visit in Oklahoma! Ryan unfortunately had to work and couldn’t get off, so we went and had a wonderful time without him. However we got to do google hangouts and see him, and talk to him almost every night.

While we were in Oklahoma we got to do a lot of fun things, Novella got to go fishing for the first time, my dad caught a small fish that Novella got to help reel in, then we threw it back. We asked her if she wanted to touch it and she replied, “No, it has sharp teeth”, apparently we were fishing for piranhas or angler fish haha. Needless to say it was enjoyable and relaxing and a fun first time experience for her. She also got to fly her first kite while we were there. We played in the sprinkler several days, ate entirely too much ice cream, got to see extended family, go shopping, eat lots of yummy food and got to spend a wonderful time with Opa, Gran Jan and Great Grandmother.

After all the effort and work I had been putting toward getting our home ready to put on the market it was indeed a good break for me. Although we missed Ryan it was a good getaway with the girls. We left with no date to be expected back and just played it by ear. I could tell when the girls and I were ready to come home and see Papa though. My mom drove back with us for the next two days and then we dropped her off in Milwaukee to fly back home and the girls and I drove the last 2.5 hours ourselves. The next day Ryan returned home and what a joy it was! The girls were both absolutely elated to see him, and by his eyes they had grown up and changed a lot in those two weeks!

Thank you Mom, Dad, and Grandmother for the wonderful time playing, talking, cooking, doing puzzles, reading, teaching, and experiencing life with us. We truly all had a remarkable time that I will not soon forget! We love you!
