Brace Yourself

Last month we went to Green Bay to have Aveline fit for ankle braces. Her neurologist made mention to us in January that she would be in need of ankle braces due to in-toeing and low tone. Her physical therapist came and put in her recommendation to the neurologist and so began the process.

We had to request a special out of network coverage for the orthotics place because they were not covered. They authorized everything and covered it all. Last week we got the call that her braces were ready and we scheduled the appointment.

Tuesday morning we got to go down to Green Bay, we went to pet smart and looked at adoption dogs just for the fun of it, then went to the mall and met up with some good friends we met in December at the Ronald McDonald House.

Caroline and Novella hit it off right away when they first met, as did her mother Stacy and I. It was an instant connection, and one that so truly believe God orchestrated. From feeding tubes, to ankle braces, and personalities, an instant bond. We are grateful for times that we get to spend with them. They visited Aveline in the hospital after her surgery and came as a support to visit us when we got home as well. We have been truly blessed.

After our visit with them we grabbed a quick lunch at the mall food court to go and headed to her appointment. The braces fit great and she does not seem worried by them at the least!

We rented a movie and headed back home, we had a restful afternoon. Thank you for your support and prayers for us on our journey.

And no, we still do not have orders yet.
