Better Late Than Never

I’ve recently been informed by several parties that they have not seen a blog from us in awhile… and I realized, yikes, I think the last time I wrote was around the new year. So it’s been a hot minute! So sorry to all of our devoted readers and prayer warriors that I have epically failed to keep you in the loop, I will do my best to do better!!

So the question is where do we begin? We found out in September we were expecting another precious baby. Aveline started using her feeding tube significanly less and stopped using it altogether mid October. Ryan celebrated his 31st birthday in October as well. November we celebrated Thanksgiving with another Christian Coast Guard couple that Novella goes to Awanas with one of their little boys. His name is Sawyer, and Novella has told us how handsome he is, on multiple occasions, and apparently he talks about Novella a lot to his momma as well.

Christmas was wonderful, just us as a family. We were all very blessed and enjoyed clebrating the birth of Jesus and getting to open up fun surprises. The girls got a new dolly crib and a kitchen set with all the supplies, and love them, movies, and a whole array of other items.

Novella loves Awanas (Cubbies) and is learning lots of new bible verses and learning all about God. She is also still loving gymnastics and improving week to week with her skills on the bars, cartwheels, and she is getting strong! We are blown away with how grown up she is becoming!

Aveline outgrew her braces, and we had to stop using them. She had a lot of regression in her walking, in-toeing, toe walking and foot drop. Due to her lack of functional activity tolerance (being able to walk long distances without tiring easily and falling a lot) we finally made the decision to have her fit for a wheelchair for long distances and outings, she should get it in the next week or two. She is a funny little girl with A LOT of personality that is beginning to shine through more and more.

January, Aveline got fit for her new braces, and got them a couple of weeks later, she loves them, however we haven’t seen any improvement and will likely be going back to a different style soon. My parents came for a week, and a much needed visit. We had a wonderful time. The Government shutdown affected us, as we are Coast Guard. Luckily between my parents being here and helping us out more than we could have asked or imagined, our bank, and generous friends, family and unknown supporters we ended up being okay.

After my parents visit we had our baby scan, and found out we were having another baby girl, who appears to be healthy! This scan took place on the same day as the anniversary of my Grandmothers passing and Avelines tube placement surgery, it was a pretty emotional day all around! We also found out if Aveline continues to do how she is doing without her tube, we will be able to get her tubie removed in April!!

So here we are in March now, lots has already happened this year, and we have a lot to continue to look forward to! We have settled on a name for baby girl 3.0, but as far as you and the girls are concerned until she is born you can call her baby Cheetah, we are looking forward to meeting her, I am struggling again with gestational diabetes, already started on insulin and swelling, but all worth it in the end to hold that sweet baby!

We got a really big snow storm a few weeks ago, we ALL LOVED being out in the snow again!!! However, it didn’t last long and we have been enjoying outside time on nice days!

This weekend Aveline decided to blindside me and launch off of the toy chest and landed directly onto my stomach and the baby. I spent the day uncomfortable and having contractions. We finally made the decision for me to go to Labor and Delivery Triage to just be sure baby was okay and that I wasn’t going into pre-term labor. Baby and everything else looked great and fine. I am still tender and sore, but no surprise baby arrival right now thankfully! She is still very active and happy swimming in her amniotic fluid! We are 27 weeks pregnant now.

Sorry it has been so long since we have updated everyone, we will do better at keeping everyone in the loop over the next few months!!! Thank you for being patient with us and continuing to read our blog!!
