Follow Up From Last Post…

Well, it has been a few weeks since I last posted about making some changes in my life. Things started out REALLY well! Then some changes happened in our lives, and things have shifted slightly, but I will write more about that at a later time. During nap times lately, I have been actually finding a little more time for myself, and other things. I have been taking some more time to take a shower, or enjoy a bath. I also got my sewing machine out and have done a few projects. First, I took an old shirt of mine and made it into a little pair of pants for Novella, they are SUPER cute, and fit her pretty well right now!
Then I went on to do another project. One of my dearest and oldest friends is in the process of adopting a little one from Ethiopia. I really wanted her child to have a homemade gift from me, so I decided to make soft blocks that make noises. Some crinkle, some rattle, and some jingle. The original plan was to write her child’s name on the gray side of each block (hence 5 blocks), However, just in case there are any changes to the gender and name, I decided to leave them blank so that she can add the name, or initials to them at a later date. I was really excited about how these came out… now to get the final hand stitching done, and then get them in the mail to her!!
I have been trying to be more diligent in house work as well, but on the same note, if I am too tired, I am learning to just let it go, the dishes will be there in the morning, the toys will be out and played with again tomorrow, so they don’t all have to be organized. Sometimes it is okay to just let things go. A messy house is a sign that it is lived in and that there are not always enough hours in the day to clean when you are having fun and enjoying your family. We are also trying to enjoy as much time outside before it gets bitter cold this winter and we cannot go outside. For those of you who don’t know, we live in Wisconsin, and it can get…just a bit chilly! 😉 haha
In other news, we switched to a different church about 30 minutes away, and we have been so incredibly blessed by this change. It is a wonderful fit for us, as much as we miss our friends from our previous church, this has been a good move for us, we are being fed every week. We joined a life group, and Novella loves “Sunday School/Childcare”, Almost every week we get to bring home something she has colored or glued. It is pretty special for us to see God working in her little life, even though she doesn’t fully understand yet, we are teaching her early so she knows… She even learned how to say Amen after we pray throughout the day. She will hold our hands and we will pray, then say Amen, and she repeats it. Talk about a special moment when she first began saying it. Guess we are doing something right!
God has been blessing us abundantly lately, and we are so grateful for all he is doing in our lives and we look forward to all he is going to continue to do. I also, will work at writing a little more often as well. My next blog, I will try to post some photos of our house, we’ve lived here since April, and hardly anyone has seen it!!! HAHA
Until next time…
